Yeh Khula Aasmaan receives a standing ovation
at the Haryana Film Festival

Mumbai, January 2012: With the emergence of quality meaningful cinema, the Bollywood industry is no longer just about meaningless masala films. Without a doubt, the Bollywood industry has revolutionized in the past recent years. Yeh Khula Aasmaan is another such film aiming at touching the soul with its heartwarming entertaining tale. Hence, it comes as no surprise the Yeh Khula Aasmaan received a standing ovation at the Haryana International Film Festival by all the attendees present. Directed by Gitanjali Sinha and produced by Mr. Hemendra Aran (Gitanjali Creations), Yeh Khula Aasmaan stars veteran actors Raghubir Yadav and Yashpal Sharma in principal characters.

Present at the occasion, veteran actor Yashpal Sharma says, “I can proudly claim that after Lagaan, Yeh Khula Aasmaan is the only film for which I have received such a great response. The standing ovation we received was extremely overwhelming. I am extremely proud to be associated with this film. The best part of Yeh Khula Aasmaan is that it addresses extremely important issues of our life in a very entertaining manner, also bringing back the essence of our kite flying tradition.”

Yeh Khula Aasmaan revolves around Avinash, a young boy going through an extremely challenging phase of life due to his academic failures. He feels an immense vacuum which unfortunately his busy parents are unable to fill. In desperation he visits his Grandfather (Dadu) after several years. Being the Best Kite Runner of his era, he uses the ‘kite’ to subtly impart the lessons of life and prepares him to face life. Under Dadu's company Avinash discovers many unexplored yet invaluable facets of life finding true Friendship, Love and Inspiration to lead a life full of hope, joy and success.

Adding to the standing ovation received at the Haryana International Film Festival, the film was praised by renowned film-makers present at the festival. Veteran film director and writer Kundan Shah praised director Gitanjali Shah for the making an entertaining film with a great combination of mature emotions and sports while portraying the current scenario of the Indian youth plus families.

On this note, director Gitanjali Sinha says, “It was an honor to be personally praised by Mr. Kundan Shah. I have been a great fan of his work since my younger days. I hope to be able to achieve the same heights he has reached in this industry. Yeh Khula Aasmaan is a very special film. Kite Flying has been a great Indian tradition since many generations, and sadly, it’s losing its prominence and importance with every passing year. In my opinion, a kite symbolizes free spirit, an unchained soul flying in the open sky. With Yeh Khula Aasmaan, I hope to bring back and sustain the soul of this tradition in the hearts of the people.”
