For the past 15 years, CID has been bravely fighting against crime on Indian Television, a show which inspires every Indian to light that little spark in their hearts, fight for their rights and ‘Be Brave’. In 2009, Sony Entertainment Television launched CID Gallantry Awards to honor real life heroes. Since then CID Gallantry Awards have been the guiding light for many Indians who fought against social injustice and for many who continue to battle evil across the country. Be it corruption, crime or the violation of human rights, several Indians have courageously fought and even laid their lives to build the foundation of a better India. This year, the third edition of Awards, CID Veerta Awards 2011 just got Bigger, Better and Brave!!!

‘Jalao Saahas Ki Mashaal’ - the theme of the latest edition of CID Veerta Awards will come to life on Sunday, April 1, 2012 on Sony Entertainment Television as CID pays tribute to common men/women who have fought and sacrificed their lives for justice. The evening hosted by actors Anoop Soni and Mona Singh will emphasize upon the spirit of bravery through entertaining acts by some of the popular faces of Indian Television along with CID cast.

The evening will begin with the powerful recital of an inspiring poem by ACP Pradyuman and CID team establishing the theme of the evening – ‘Jalao Saahas Ki Mashaal – Be Brave’. This will be followed by a concept act to offer a tribute to the brave legends who sacrificed their lives fighting for the nation. A dance drama act which will showcase the acts of bravery by Rani Lakshmi Bai (played by Mouni Roy), Veer Shivaji (played by Gurmeet Chowdhary) and Bhagat Singh (played by Jai Kalra).

In another act inspired from the Indian Mythology, Shweta Tiwari brought to life ‘The Mahishasura Vadh by Durga’ – the biggest example of victory of good over evil. The act inspires women to stand up for their fights against injustice. And finally, the most popular act of the evening where Daya along with brave gen-next kids performs a stunning martial arts act. The kids show their grit and determination to fight all the injustice around them.

The jury for CID Veerta Awards 2011 consisted of Ms. Asha Parekh (veteran actor), Mr. Y.K. Sapru (Founder- Chairman, Cancer Patient Aid Association), Mr. Farooq Sheikh (veteran actor and theatre artist), Mr. Sumit Awasthi (Deputy Editor, Aaj Tak) and Mr. B.P. Singh (Producer-Director and Creator, CID).
